With the Weatherinfobox I have bad or irregular reception. Can disturbances of other devices located on board make worse the receipt achievement?
Disturbances by other devices or also outside from the ship can impair the reception. Board devices can disturb the reception: E.G. battery chargers, converter, navigation systems, direct current motors, computers and for example radio devices (transmitter / receiver or radios).
Tip: If you have bad receipt with the WIB, switch off all devices and allow to receive} the WIB overnight. Disturbances can also go out from neighbouring ships, stationary radio communication systems or also power lines have an increased sturgeon potential.

When must the accumulators be exchanged in the Weatherinfobox?
The accumulators should be exchanged if the intended accumulator run time is not arrived any more. Use only the accumulator type declared in the user manual.
Care after exchanging the accumulators in the WIB1, WIB2, WIB2B or WIB3 to reinstate the lid properly. If the lid is mounted wrong (around 180 ° rotatedly), you can damage the ferrite rod antenne while to screw down the lid. Result: A defective device... |

Which antenna is optimum for the reception of the WIBE? Active rod antenna (#WIBANT) or an isolated backstay with the backstay coupler-Marinebalun (#MLB1)? Our Active rod antenna is constructed speziel for the reception of the WIBE, and has a phantom supply. It brings the optimum reception. The location should be beyond the sturgeon fog of the ship. Recommendation: mounting at mast's top. |

Where is the best location for the antenna? Beyond the sturgeon fog of the ship, so high as possible, e.g., on the mast's top. The mounting on the stern pulpit is a compromise settlement. The reception is not optimum and guests use the antenna in the stern pulpit very much to grasp on. |
